Our Story

How it all started...

CrossPointe Church actually began as Calvary Bible Baptist Church.  In 1976 Bob and Joy Burney moved to Westerville with a desire to plant a brand-new church.  The first service was held at the Grange Hall on College Avenue.  Before long the church outgrew that facility and merged with the Morse Road Baptist Church.  As the church continued to grow, the decision was made to buy land and build a new building on Cleveland Avenue.  Bob continued to pastor the church until 2000 when he stepped away to create Cross Power Ministries and to focus on his daily Christian radio talk show.  Herb Koonce became the second pastor of the church and served in that capacity until 2008.

It's a new day

Matt Keller started his ministry at the end of 2008.  For the last decade, the church has gone through many important transitions, including adopting a new name in 2018.  Today, CrossPointe Church is a healthy, vibrant, growing ministry with an exciting vision for the future and a passion to reach Westerville and beyond with the life-giving message of the gospel.

Where we are headed...

Our mission and our passion is to lead people to connect and commit to Jesus.  Our desire is to spend our time and resources to make a greater impact in lives throughout  Westerville, the Columbus Metro Area, and around the world.  If you want a life of spiritual significance we encourage you to come to CrossPointe, connect with others who want to make Christ known, and commit to take the gospel locally and globally for the glory of God and the expansion of His kingdom.
